Introducing the Social Intelligence Test! From what I can tell, it’s sponsored by Harvard and it’s rather interesting. The basis is you look at pictures of people going through different emotions and decide what emotion they’re feeling. The trick is, you can only see their eyes.
How well can you read people? I never thought I was good at it, but I scored rather high on this test. It was a very interesting experience! I highly recommend taking this!
So I just found out that Laverne Cox has an identical twin brother, who played pre-transition Sophia in OITNB. I was wondering how they found someone that looked just like her to play the role! Super cool.
they were discussing Sophia’s back story and she told them “ya know, i have a twin brother.” they asked him to do it and he said yes! :D
fun fact Jenji Kohan told Laverne Cox that they were going to hire somebody to play her pre-transition because they didn’t want to traumatize her or trigger dysphoria by having her pretend to be a man and she was like “no no, I can do this, I’m an actress” but the creators of the show insisted on using her twin brother instead
Ok, the fact that her brother was like “Yeah I can do that” is awesome. The fact that the producers understood what playing pre-transition could mean mentally for Laverne, and were like “let’s not do that to her.” is even more awesome.
AND he’s an operatic counter tenor whose music draws heavily from negro spirituals and mixes black metal and western classical music http://vimeo.com/55235477
City Council is re-calibrating the gravity of the city today. Citizens are warned to anticipate sudden gravity shifts and stay near objects which can be grabbed onto in the event of a shift. And now, the weather.
